The Fall Down Alert
The Mobile Medi Alert boasts an automatic fall-down alarm system.  If the device senses what may be a fall, it sends a fall alert text to each emergency contact including your GPS location.  However, before the texts are sent, the device will beep for 30 seconds to inform the user that the alarm has been activated with a 15-20 second beep.  If it is a false alarm, it can be aborted by a short press of the SOS button.  The fall detection feature can easily be turned on or off.

How do I get help?
When help is needed, the user simply presses the SOS button on their Mobile Medi Alert for 3 seconds.  The device will text and sequentially call up to 5 emergency contacts.  Whoever answers first is the one that the user can speak with in a 2-way conversation in speaker mode. The emergency text messages include a link to Google Maps showing the user’s GPS location. The unit stops the sequence of calls after the first call connection is made and the user briefly presses the SOS button to stop further calls or the emergency contact that is reached presses 1 on their keypad.

The phone icon button on the side of the unit allows you to call Contact #2 directly with a 3 second push of the button. No text messages are sent.  This chosen pre-set number can easily be changed by you at anytime.

Can others contact me on my Mobile Medi Alert?
Yes! You can provide your Mobile Medi Alert number to your family and friends.  Your contacts can call you on your Mobile Medi Alert and the device will automatically answer in speakerphone mode.

How do my personal contacts obtain my GPS location at any time?
If any of the contacts need or want to find you, all they need to do is text the letters “loc” to the phone number of your Mobile Medi Alert.  They will receive a reply text with a link to its location on Google maps.

Australia-wide Coverage
The Mobile Medi Alert needs a SIM card to work. Your purchase comes with your choice of either an Aldi (Telstra network) SIM card or Amaysim (Optus network) SIM card.

Option 1: ALDI Mobile SIM card (Telstra network)
The Mobile Medi Alert can come with a SIM card from ALDI Mobile installed and activated. It therefore has its own mobile phone number which will be supplied to you and details of your ‘ALDI Mobile Account’ login so you can check on your usage.  This choice comes with $5 prepaid credit.  It must be topped up with $15 within a year.  The calling cost is 12¢ a minute & 12¢ per text.

Option 2: Amaysim Mobile SIM card (Optus network)
The Mobile Medi Alert can come with a SIM card from Amaysim installed and activated. Again, it has its own mobile phone number which will be supplied to you and details of your ‘Amaysim’ login so you can check on your usage.  The Amaysim card is postpaid which means you only pay for what calls/texts you use each month.  This is deducted monthly from your credit card.  This choice is a As-You-Go Postpaid Plan which means you pay only for what you use.  There are no contracts, no monthly fees, no flagfall.  Calling cost is 12¢ a minute & 12¢ per text.

3G Mobile Coverage
Your ALDI SIM (Telstra) and/or your Amaysim SIM (Optus) gives you full coverage across either the Telstra 3G or Optus 3G Mobile Network. Both these networks give the widest coverage across Australia and cover 98.5% of Australia’s population and cover 1.3 million square kilometres.

These networks are ideal for the Mobile Medi Alert because of the wide coverages and the fact that both networks have great coverage in metro and rural areas. You can check the ALDI Mobile Coverage Map here and the Amaysim Mobile Coverage Map here.

When checking the coverage map enter your street and suburb/town in ‘Find Your Location’ field. It is the ‘3G device only’ coloured areas that apply to the Mobile Medi Alert.
